These are a few of our favourite places to go birdwatching.

Cleeve Common

One of the highest points in the county to look for migrants such as Ring Ouzels and Wheatears. 

Combe Hill Canal and Meadows

You can hope for Yellow Wagtail, Whinchat, wildfowl and waders. A flat walk but it can be muddy. Start at the Combe Hill car park.

RSPB Nagshead

Look for spring migrants including Redstart and Pied Flycatcher. Start at the Nagshead Visitor Centre.

Newport Wetlands, Goldcliff Lagoons

This one is not local, but oi worth the journey. There is scrub, reed beds, lagoons and estuarine shore with opportunities to see birds, especially from the hides at Goldcliff Lagoons. Start at theRSPB car park at Newport Wetlands Centre.
