Dippers are highly sensitive to changes in water acidity and pollution, and are therefore an important biomonitoring species for freshwater habitats.
The Stroud Valleys dipper project has invited local communities to monitor the Dipper population in Gloucestershire’s Stroud Valleys.
Findings from the project will be used to assess river health and provide solutions to declining populations of the species.
