Helen and husband Philip live in the Forest of Dean. This is a great area for wildlife so they really enjoy capturing images of the local animals and birds found either out in the Forest or within their own garden. There is a wide range of interesting species in the area such as Hawfinches, Mandarin Ducks, Pied Flycatchers and Nightjars.

Helen and Philip consider themselves extremely lucky to have managed to get to the island of Midway, which is literally half way across the Pacific Ocean, as they went during what turned out to be the last year the island was open to visitors. This stunning Atol Island, is home to thousands of Albatrosses as well as Tropicbirds, White Terns and more unusual species such as Canaries! The talk will also cover encounters with birds on two Hawaiian Islands including the rare Nene or Hawaiian Goose which was brought back from the brink of extinction by WWT Slimbridge.
